Zone Meet:
USA Swimming SZ Senior
Champ's: Meet Concludes As It Started For CVST... Fast!
The USA Swimming
Southern Zone Senior Championships concluded tonight in Orlando and
for CVST things ended just as they began five days ago. that
is with Emma Volz picking up a Silver Medal. This time it was
in the 1500 Meter Freestyle where she was just edged out for the
Gold, by just .53 of a second.Her time of 18:03.26
was a drop, from her previous best time, of almost 30 seconds.
The other big swim of the
evening came in the Women's 50 Freestyle, where Maria Zambito
finished 14th, and dropped another half second from her previous
best and even bigger, broke the 30 second barrier for the
first time with a :29.92.
Congratulations to all
three girls who represented CVST at the meet where they did a
teriffic job swimming to 13 personal best times out of 14
events. The three girls also swam to a 7th Place finish in
the women's team point standing.

Champ's: Recap of Last Prelim Session
In the last morning
session of the meet, Maria Zambito started CVST off with a blazing
50 freestyle. Maria went a personal best, dropping an entire half
second off of her previous time. Her time of :30.37 scored her a
place in consolation finals and another chance to meet her goal of
breaking thirty seconds. Jackie Kenny also swam this morning in her
very first 800 freestyle. She went a 10:19.03 another personal
best.
The meet concludes
tonight with Zambito going one more time in the 50 free and and
Emma Volz in the final of the mile (1500
free).

8/6/2010 - USA Swimming SZ Senior
Champ's: Volz Picks Up Bronze In 400 Free
Emma Volz led the way
tonight for CVST's 400 Freestylers at the USA Swimming Southern
Zone Senior Championship. She picked up the Bronze Medal with
a personal best time of 4:39.38. Jackie Kenny also went a
personal best in the event with a 4:53.09 and picked up the 10th
Place points finishing second in the consolation finals.
Keeping the momentum rolling was Maria Zambito who finished 12th in
the event and droppped a whopping 12 seconds from her preliminary
swim.
The meet concludes
tomorrow, in Orlando, with preliminary events starting at 9:00 am
and the finals starting an hour earlier than normal, at 4:00
pm.

Champ's: Volz 2nd, Kenny & Zambito In Consolation Finals For
400 Free
Emma Volz cranked out a
2nd place finish in the 400 Meter Freestyle at this mornings
preliminary session of the USA Swimming Southern
Zone Senior Championships, while Jackie Kenny and Maria
Zambito both qualified for the Consolation Final in the same
event.
The meet continues this
afternoon with Finals events starting at 5:00 pm
.

Champ's: Volz & Zambito Swim Big In 200
Free
Maria Zambito and Emma
Volz swam in the Women's 200 Meter Freestyle tonight at the USA
Swimming Southern Zone Senior Championships, in
Orlando. Both Girls had great swims going personal best times
in the event. Volz medaled in the event finishing 8th in the
Championship Final dropping a full second and going 2:15.49.
Zambito finished second in the Consolation Final and lowering her
personal best by another 4 seconds with a 2:21.90.

Champ's: Zambito & Volz
Heading To Finals In 200
Free
Day 3 of the USA
Swimming Southern Zone Senior Championships are complete and CVST's
Maria Zambito and Emma Volz have qualified for tonight's
finals. Zambito will be swimming in the Bonus Heat of the
Women's 200 Meter Freestyle, while Emma Volz will be swimming in
the Championship Heat of the same event.
In today's Time Trials,
Jackie Kenny swam the 100 Backstroke in a winning time of
1:16.89.

Champ's: Kenny, Volz & Zambito All Final On Day
Two
Day Two of the USA
Swimming Southern Zone Senior Championships is complete and CVST's
jackie Kenny, Emma Volz and Maria Zambito all qualified for
tonight's finals. Zambito qualified for the Bonus Final Heat
of the Women's 100 Meter Freestyle. Volz made it back in the
Consolation Finals of both the Women's 100 Meter Freestyle and the
200 Meter Backstroke, while Kenny is also coming back in the
Consols of the 200 Meter Backstroke.

Meet With Silver Medal
The USA Swimming Southern Zone Senior
Championships got underway tonight in Orlando and CVST's Emma Volz
opened with a silver medal in the meets first event. Volz placed
2nd in the women's 800 meter freestyle with a time of
9:35.61
The meet continues tomorrow with
preliminary events starting at 9:00 am and the finals starting at
5:00 pm.
